If there were truth in advertising, the latest iteration of the mutating / mutated COVID-19 would have been named Omnicon by the WHO¹ instead of Omicron, but since advertising loves to both add to and subtract from truth,² we have a missing letter and an added one to the WHO's omicron choice (being the 15th letter of the Greek alphabet), which if corrected for truth, reveals:

● omni: everywhere, or everything: used with some adjectives
   - omnipresent (=present everywhere)
   -  omnipotent (=powerful over everything) ³
● con: something (such as a ruse) used deceptively to gain another's confidence ⁴

OMNI is surely the best prefix for things made global by design and distribution; and CON is perfect if these variations-on-a-theme are lab-engineered bio creations (though sometimes synthetic) that are false-flagging⁵ Mother Nature.
